About Suki Lopez
Suki Lopez is the actress behind Nina on Sesame Street, a part she has played since the show's 46th season and now carries into her tenth. Born in Miami on October 8, 1990 as Susana Maria Lopez, she is Cuban-American, and she works as a dancer and graphic designer alongside the acting.
She grew up in the studio. Ballet started at three, at a Miami arts school called Maria Verdeja, and her first paid work came in Spanish-language spots for Chevy and Sony. New York came later: musical theatre training at CAP21, then a science degree from The New School.
Onstage she has toured as Consuela in West Side Story, understudying Anita, and performed at sea for Disney Cruise Line. Away from the camera she now runs the same school that trained her, teaching a new group of Miami performers, and still takes on design work — some of it collected on her creative page.
